Blowing conch shell linked to improving obstructive sleep apnea
Newsweek
The ancient practice of blowing through a conch shell could help to reduce dangerous symptoms of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) — offering an alternative to medication and machines. According to a recent article in Newsweek, people with a moderate form of the snoring condition who practice the method during a clinical trial, also known as shankh blowing, were found to feel more alert during the day and have fewer breathing interruptions at night. Conch blowing may represent a surprising yet simple, comfortable and low-cost intervention to help people with OSA.
